In earlier days, home-cooked food was served to the babies. But due to some limitations in time peoples are preferring Commercially Manufactured Baby Foods, even doctors recommend such products for better nutrition. Baby food or Infant foods are soft foods that are specially developed for babies to toddlers between six months to two years, are better options for toddlers than regular food and can be produced in different varieties, flavors, etc. Newborns lack teeth and developed muscles and are dependent on mother’s milk as their diet for proper growth and development. Infant formula and baby foods offer a good source of nutrients for them. Infant formula can develop a replacement for breast milk and targets infants below 12 months. Whereas, infant food is produced by using fruits, vegetables, cereals, etc. for commercially manufacturing foods in powdered, liquid, concentrated and Ready to Feed form and are provided to babies when breast milk or formula becomes insufficient appetite. There is a huge potential for newly developed food types for infants including baby soup, bottled baby foods, snacks, frozen baby foods, etc. The demand for baby food products is growing in the market considering the rising population, the growing number of working women, especially in the metropolitan cities, increasing parental concern regarding the nutrition of their kids.
