Continuous innovation and up gradation in technology, the rapid growth of technological adaption, and a high rate of obsolescence in electronics have led the e-waste sector to become one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world consisting of outdated electrical and electronic products. The reduced life spans of electrical, electronic, and consumer electronic devices are generating large quantities of E-Waste, which is growing rapidly every year. E-waste recycling involves reuse and reprocessing of electrical and electronic components of any type that has been discarded or considered as obsolete. The reprocessing involves various processes such as shredding, magnetic separation, non-metallic and metallic separation, separation by water, etc. to separate every reusable component and dispose of the remains. With both, central and state government’s schemes to provide financial assistance for plant and machinery and to increase awareness and activities relating to e-waste management, e-waste recycling is emerging to be an economically profitable business.
