With the increasing pollution level, energy consumption, and decrease in fossil fuel reserves many countries are implementing new policies for minimizing the usage of fossil fuels as well as protecting the environment and increase the use of renewable energy sources like solar power and Biodiesel. Biodiesel is an alternative fuel for diesel engines that is produced by reacting vegetable oil or animal fat with an alcohol such as methanol or ethanol, and the process is known as “transesterification”. Soybean oil, canola oil, beef tallow, and pork lard, and all other oils which contain triglyceride can be used to produce biodiesel. The demand for diesel is five times more than that of petrol, and the biodiesel market is expected to experience huge demand in the next few years because many governments are encouraging the use of biodiesel and many countries have started blending some percentage of the biodiesel with the conventional diesel. The rising interest of making the environment pollution-free and limited source of fossil-fuels have supported the advancements in technologies and development in the automobile sector is acting as an important aspect in the growth of the biofuel industry. The Indian government is planning for blending 5% Biodiesel in normal diesel from the next few years, which will increase the market demand for biodiesel.
